About
Through fundraising initiatives, we procure essential items like school supplies, Gospel-themed coloring books, backpacks, toys, Bibles, and nutritional sustenance.
Our core mission revolves around identifying needs and actively addressing them. We primarily prioritize fundamental necessities such as food and education.
Your support is instrumental in helping us build relationships and change the lives of children who otherwise would continue in a cycle of physical and spiritual poverty. Help us leave an eternal impact on young lives through meaningful interactions and care of their physical need
Our Approach
Our approach involves close collaboration with local individuals, ministries, and churches. Together, we visit schools and neighborhoods, aiming to not only entertain but also impart a Gospel-centered message.
Our goal is to bring joy by engaging with the children, sharing meaningful experiences, and gifting them with practical items that brighten their day. Moreover, we foster lasting relationships with these communities. Through consistent interaction, we encourage children to embrace prayer and seek guidance from God in their lives. Our efforts strive to leave a lasting impact by instilling hope, faith, and a sense of purpose in these young hearts.
About Ken
Born and raised in Surrey/North Delta, Ken spent 42 years helping people achieve their real estate dreams in the Fraser Valley. In November 1992, Ken gave his heart to the Lord and has been a follower of Jesus ever since.
In the spring of 2017, Ken signed up with his church (CLA Langley) for his first short-term mission trip to Zambia, Africa. Visiting the kids and handing out “Boxes of Love,” as well as spending time with them, touched Ken deeply, leading him to sign up again for the following spring. After the second trip, Ken signed up once more, but then the pandemic came. After two years, CLA changed the African mission trip and was no longer sending volunteers. Ken had made some contacts and decided to go alone, and God opened doors for many opportunities to visit and serve kids in impoverished areas.
“By the time I was returning for the fourth time, people were giving me money, and we were able to buy essential items in Zambia, package 500 bags for the kids, and provide funding to feed them a protein-based, nutritious meal.”
As an amateur magician since childhood and with the help of magician friends, Ken put together a magic show to entertain the kids and is now doing more “Gospel Magic” to help encourage and share the love of God.
Over time, Ken was encouraged to visit Uganda by one of his spiritual mentors, Ray Barnett, and the following year, he visited both Zambia and Uganda. As the need grew, so did the funding, and together with his advisory committee (Glenn, Brenda, Rod, and Dennis), Ken started Uncle Ken Ministries in December 2023. That same year, Ken transitioned from being a full-time Realtor to an unlicensed assistant with his partners at Katrina & the Team.
Ken has many interests and hobbies, including mentoring others, fitness, magic, Toastmasters, golf, skiing, baking, and attending sporting events and concerts, as well as his commitments to his church (CLA Langley), family, friends, and community.
“God continues to open more doors, and between Africa and Mexico, we now anticipate providing beautifully filled backpacks or gift bags to approximately 2,500 kids, serving about 1,500 nutritious meals, and performing 15-20 Gospel-themed magic shows. 🙂 Thank you in advance for your support with prayers and donations, as without your help, we cannot do this alone.”
